Hypatia’s board of directors come from a wide range multidiscipline academic and professional background, who are sharing the principles of gender equality, and are actively engaging in the protection of the principles of equality regardless of race, nationality, disability, religion, age or gender.
Anna Pilavaki is a graduate from Pantion University in Athens in Public Administration, has received Masters Degree from Aegean University in “Gender and New Educational and Working Environments in Information Society” and is now a PHD candidate in Gender Studies in Cyprus University. She has long experience on gender equality issues in employment and she worked with women’s committees of European and international trade union confederations. She has also long experience in coordinating projects, in conducting studies on gender issues, in conducting training courses, and forging support networks.
Nikos Stathopoulos is a graduate from Northeastern Illinois University - USA in Economics (1981) and holds an MBA from Roosevelt University - USA (1985). He has wide ranging project development, project management, project evaluation, public relations and networking experience in Cyprus, in EU, and the United States of America. He has managed complex projects in the area of human resource development, social protection, social inclusion, gender equality and has significant experience in developing and executing strategies for the integration of migrants and refugees.
Romina Pilavaki, is a graduate from University of Reading Kingston University on History with European Literature and Culture, and holds a Postgraduate on International Relations from Kingston University.
She worked in social work sector in Reading Borough Council for 2 years and in Lattitude Global Volunteering in Reading for 4 years.
Today she works in a shipping company in Limassol.
Mimis Theodotou is a MA Industrial Relations & Health and Safety from Middlesex University in UK. He is an Industrial Relations & Health and Safety advisor at www.rythmoszois.com.cy . Has long experience in the trade union movement and NGOs where he served as a member of the Board or the President. In the context of his work, among other things, coordinate administrative or participates in preparation of research proposals and to carry out research projects. Also teach courses in the areas of industrial relations, safety and health, gender equality. He has participated in dozens of European projects as a member or researcher .He is very active on promoting the gender equality and the social inclusionof vulnerable groups
Elpiniki Papastefanou is a graduate of the School of Education of the Department of Preschool Education of the University of Cyprus. She completed her master's degree in education for the Environment and Sustainable Development at Frederick University. Then she worked in formal and non-formal schools. She participated and attended seminars, experiential workshops and conferences on Environmental Education both at Cyprus and abroad. She is an active member in various organizations related to the Environment and participated in various research projects. She now teaches Environmental Education as a special scientist at Frederick University and at the same time continues her academic studies at doctoral level with main research interests environmental ethics, values in preschool age and Sustainable schools.
Yiota Kutulas holds a B.A. in International Relations from San Francisco State University and is currently working towards a Master’s in Theology at the University of Nicosia. She has extensive experience in researching, writing, editing and monitoring long-term programs in the Middle East. Yiota is interested in promoting gender equality both at home and in the region.
Christina Achilleos is a graduate from the Greek Literature Department of Patras’ University in Greece and holds a postgraduate degree in the educational administration and leadership of the CIIM University. He also holds Higher in accounting and works as the accountant of the Famagusta Municipality. She is also very active on social inclusion of vulnerable groups.

Alexia Panayiotou is an assistant professor in the Department of Business and Public Administration at the University of Cyprus. She completed undergraduate and graduate studies at Stanford University and has a doctorate in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University. Her research interests include the representation of management and organizations in popular culture; organizational space and symbolism; gender and work; feminist analysis of organizations; and visuality and organizational narratives. Her work has appeared, amongst others, in Strategic Organization, Management Learning, Organization, and the Journal of Management Inquiry.

Jane Pillinger is a BA Hons and Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD), Department of Social Policy and Sociology BA Hons. Her current position is Independent Research and Policy Advisor (a role held since 2000). Prior to that, 25 years working as a Senior Lecturer in social policy in UK universities . She is a Former Specialist Advisor to the House of Commons Select Committee on Employment (1997 – 2005)
